| BUS |
The
famous red London bus can be a good alternative to the
underground, enabling you to take in some sight-seeing
while travelling the capital. Most of the buses have indicative
routes either posted on the front of the bus, or at the
entrance. On traditional
buses, with the open back door, a bus conductor will be
pleased to advise you if you are on the right bus. If
you plan to use the bus for several journeys it is advisable
to buy a Travelcard or bus pass which enables you to jump
on and off the bus as you wish. Travelcards and bus passes are available from underground stations and certain
newsagents and Travel Centres. For Covent Garden,
the best places to head for are The Strand, Trafalgar
Square, or Leicester Square. London

| The black cab is a
classic feature of central London. Heavy traffic and expensive
fares mean that this is probably not the most efficient
method of travel. However, a black cab will comfortably
seat up to five people and you can guarantee that your
cabbie won't get you lost. Hail one in the street, queue
for one at a taxi rank, or call: |
