The V&A's treasure chest of beautiful
historic quilts, together with a selection of contemporary
British quilts, some specially commissioned, will go
on show in a major exhibition of nearly 100 quilts in
spring 2010. This is the first major exhibition of its
kind at the V&A ranging from spectacular 17th century
bed hangings and silk coverlets to recent reinventions
of the quilt by artists such as Pauline Burbidge, Jo
Budd, Grayson Perry and Tracy Emin.
